EDWS Architects successfully secured full Planning and Listed Building Consent for the change of use of the upper floors of Stanmer House to visitor accommodation in August 2025.
Located within the South Downs National Park, Stanmer House is a landmark Grade I listed building with deep historical and architectural significance. This approval marks a major milestone in the ongoing revitalisation of the estate, enabling a new chapter in its use while ensuring its heritage is carefully preserved.
Our proposals were developed with a sensitive approach to conservation, balancing the need for modern functionality with the responsibility of protecting the building’s historic fabric. The approved scheme will enhance the visitor experience and contribute positively to the cultural and economic vitality of the area.
This project reflects our continued commitment to heritage-led design and our expertise in navigating complex planning and listed building processes.
